Setting Up Your Own Branch

Music is a powerful force that will bring people of all ages, politics, creeds and languages together and Irish music has a particularly strong universal appeal.

Today there are over 415 branches of Irish Music, Dance & Language spread throughout 4 Continents and, like Irish Sport, Irish Music is a marevellous way to connect with the great Irish Diaspora spread throughout the world.

Setting up in your own community a Branch which will nurture and spread the love of Irish Music, Dance & Language is hugely rewarding and hugely beneficial to all who become involved.

Your own Branch will allow you to harness young talent and build friendships at local, provincial, national and international levels.

Your own local branch will afford you the opportunity to channel the energies of our young people while continuing to nuture our distinct and unique cultural traditions.

To set up your own branch you will need:

  • At least 10 members
  • Links in the area – eg schools, community centres, etc
  • Access to a suitable premises for classes, sessions, etc
  • Commitment and dedication to see a vision become a reality.
